An Update on the Ukrainian Front
What Is Going on in the Counteroffensive into Russian Territory?
The Ukrainian front of Cold War II has expanded to the point where the United States and its allies are permitting the Volodymyr Zelensky regime to invade Russian territory. Although Ukraine claims to have captured ninety-two Russian settlements and a total of 1,250 square kilometers (483 square miles) in the Kursk Oblast, let us not forget that Russia controls and occupies almost one hundred times that amount of Ukrainian territory (about 18% of the country’s 603,000 square kilometer area, or about 108,000 square kilometers or 41,000 square miles of annexed land). The West is celebrating the accomplishment of the Ukrainian military in being able to launch a counteroffensive, but the real question people should be asking is: will this escalation in the fighting increase our chances for World War III?
So, what has Ukraine captured? In addition to seizing enough land to build a small county by American standards, the Ukrainian military has blown up, not one, or two, but three bridges in Kursk Oblast. This effort is being done not only to impress American voters and politicians ahead of this year’s election and ensure that the evil Ukraine aid-cutting Donald Trump will not ascend to the presidency but also to create a buffer zone between Russia and eastern Ukraine in order to weaken Russia’s resolve and keep a Russian advance at bay. Additionally, this attempts to prove to the world, at least by Ukrainian logic, that Russia is not a powerful country because it cannot control its own land, and therefore, the West should not be afraid of it and should continue with aid. Russia has been struggling, or at least that is what the corporate media suggests, to repel the Ukrainian counteroffensive and has been rerouting thousands of troops from the Ukrainian front to address the matter (even losing 1,120 troops within a twenty-four-hour period), and the West is ecstatic. Perhaps underestimating Russia would be imprudent.
Clearly, Ukraine is only able to capture Russian territory because the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has poured weapons and equipment into the Ukrainian military’s stockpiles. There is absolutely no way that this feat would have been carried out had Ukraine been left to its own devices. Therefore, it could be argued that blame for this incursion into Russia lies solely with NATO. According to Polish Interior Minister Tomasz Siemoniak, the Ukrainian invasion of Russia is considered a defensive move that would not “change the anti-escalation attitude of the West,” and the Biden administration suggested that Ukraine’s strategy in this was proper and necessary.
Yes, because invading a nuclear power that the United States is at de facto war with is certainly defensive in nature. This seems like a great idea and a perfect way to avoid escalation in this large-scale global conflict. Sometimes it seems like the president’s inner circle advisors are as braindead as Joe Biden, or they are just so bent on conquest and global domination that they are pure evil. Although we cannot prove that the United States was directly involved in the Ukrainian offensive into Kursk Oblast, given the fact that the American military has been guiding Ukraine with Russian targets on the battlefield and providing intelligence with troops on the ground (something that the Biden administration lied about until it was revealed to be true), it would certainly be rational to believe that this incident is no different than what has already transpired and that NATO is in fact assisting in the counteroffensive.
Russia has responded to this by threatening the use of nuclear weapons and by making it apparent that negotiations with Ukraine are now significantly less likely. Although Russia certainly has no claim to being a victim of invasion by any stretch (being that it invaded Ukraine and has been occupying some of its territory since 2022), and it has just recently launched “40 missiles, 750 guided aerial bombs and 200 attack drones this week against Ukrainian villages and cities;” we should think about the consequences of NATO allowing Ukraine to make aggressive moves. By continuing to send military aid and green light these operations, the United States is complicit in whatever Ukraine does, and if a war breaks out where American lives are lost, there is nobody to blame but the Biden administration, which has been utilizing Ukraine as a tool to weaken Russia on the geopolitical stage.
Previously, there had been an incident where Lockheed Martin-made Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles, which were also believed to have been programed by American troops on the ground in Ukraine, were used by the Ukrainian military in an airstrike in Sevastopol, Crimea. In that attack, four civilians were killed and 150 were injured. Although the United States bears full responsibility for supplying these weapons to Ukraine, luckily, this did not escalate tensions. However, we still do not know if the most recent incursion into Russian territory will.
This is especially true in the wake of Germany announcing that Russia was not responsible for blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines in 2022, and instead, the investigation seems to suggest that Ukrainian nationals, supposedly unrelated to the Zelensky regime (uh huh), sabotaged them. Of course, the corporate media barely covered this finding and buried the story (for obvious purposes), but at least the conspiracy theorists have been vindicated (even if most Americans are still not aware). The Biden administration flat-out lied to the American public and said that Russia blew up its own pipeline, knowing full well that it was an ally of the United States that did it (and realistically, it was probably a covert American operation authorized by the president or his advisors).
Tensions are still running high between the United States and Russia, Iran, and China, and if World War III is going to erupt soon, Ukraine is still one of the most likely places for it to start. The conflict has thus far remained a cold war, but that could change with any given event by either side. Do we really want to find out and continue down this status quo path? Perhaps we should change course while the opportunity still awaits. Before too long, a hot war between superpowers could become inevitable.
