The “No New Wars” President Is Maneuvering Us Closer to War with Iran
On the campaign trail, Donald Trump promised to end current wars and not start any new ones, and yet, he seems to be barreling straight into direct conflict with the Persian nation. As I mentioned previously, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has control over the United States and aims to bring Iran to its knees using the American military, and just like the Joe Biden administration seemed interested in forcing a hot war with Russia over Ukraine, President Trump seems to be attempting to usher in World War III via Iran instead.
After the Trump administration essentially broke the Israeli-Gazan ceasefire, which the Houthis (Ansar Allah) had been adhering to, by bombing locations throughout Yemen, the Houthis responded with retaliatory attacks (beginning with the USS Harry S. Truman). The president stated that the Houthis “will be completely annihilated,” before turning over to Iran and threatening it to rein in its ally or face consequences (as if Iran has complete control over the actions of the Houthis). Granted, the Biden administration had been engaging with the Houthis and attempting to prevent them from attacking ships in the Red Sea that were bound to or from Israel (a move that was considered in solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip), but President Trump did not need to begin a new bombing campaign when the seas were quiet (for context, the Houthi Supreme Political Council has control over the Yemeni capital of Sanaa in the ongoing civil war, meaning that the internationally-recognized government under the Presidential Leadership Council has been stationed in Aden, which is located outside of the Houthi-controlled areas).
The current administration has gone further on its threats against Iran by explicitly stating that if Iran does not agree to a new nuclear deal, it will face bombing like “they have never seen before.” This threat was backed up by the deployment of B-2 stealth bombers to Diego Garcia, Chagos Archipelago, British Indian Ocean Territory, and the positioning of the USS Harry S. Truman and USS Carl Vinson aircraft carrier groups within striking distance of Iranian territory; and even if this is ultimately just a show of force and an intimidation factor to bring Iran into compliance, why is the United States bullying another country?
Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei made it clear that his nation will provide a “reciprocal blow” and “respond to any threat with full force,” “decisively and immediately,” but ultimately, he said that he “won’t start a war” and would prefer peace. Just as President Trump showed that he may be willing to attack Iran by stationing bombers and aircraft carriers nearby, Iran has expanded its Ghadir radar system to assist in detecting airstrikes from either the United States or Israel (Israel has already bombed Iran), revealed “missile cities” and conducted missile tests as a potential deterrent, and put its military forces (including the Revolutionary Guard) on “high alert.” Furthermore, Iran has joined Russia and China in naval exercises in the Persian Gulf, and Russia has warned the United States that an attack against Iran is “illegal and unacceptable,” indicating that Vladimir Putin is prepared to defend Iran in case of an imprudent decision by the United States government to actually pull the trigger. The ironic part of this is that the Trump administration is readying the United States for an offensive attack against Iran, and Iran is preparing its defenses in case it is attacked. Which country is the aggressor here?
Is this a hardball tactic in order to get Iran to cave to a nuclear deal? Just like President Trump may be threatening the entire world with tariffs on imports to get countries to negotiate better trade terms, there may be a lot of hot air in the president’s rhetoric (we will see). At the current moment, it appears that the federal government is attempting to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons (if it does not have them already) at all costs on behalf of Israel’s interest in becoming the most powerful nation in the Middle East. Khamenei has claimed (for years) that his country is not pursuing nuclear weapons and that his nation needs nuclear power for civilian purposes (nuclear energy is a good source of power), but American officials are not content with that answer and want a guarantee that no nuclear weapons program is in the works (I guess if we apply the Darwinian principle that more powerful nations get to dictate terms to weak ones, this lines up perfectly). The current understanding is that Iran is enriching uranium to 60%, but to reach weapons-grade material, 90% enrichment is necessary, which means that, officially, Iran is not at the point of being able to produce nuclear weapons (though, it could seemingly convert its stockpile into six nuclear bombs). If there were additional unknown underground facilities for nuclear weapons, you can almost guarantee that the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or Israeli Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (Mossad) would have picked up on it by now, being that both are highly-sophisticated intelligence forces. I will let you be the judge of whether Iran is using its nuclear power for civilian purposes or developing weapons.
So far, Iran is unwilling to negotiate directly with the United States on nuclear weapons (of course, if your territory were completely surrounded by nuclear powers and American military bases, you would probably want some kind of deterrence or bargaining chip too), and it has refused the Trump administration’s letter (sent via the United Arab Emirates and Oman) giving it a two-week deadline to reach a nuclear deal. However, it appears that this upcoming weekend, the Trump administration will meet with Iranian officials indirectly in Oman to discuss the nuclear matter, and if Iran does not comply with American demands, it will “be in great danger.”
How long can Iran hold out against President Trump’s bullying? Are we on the verge of an invasion of Iran that will fail disastrously like the Iraq War and bring us closer to World War III (conservatives will be cheering this on the whole time)? Will there be some sort of false flag event where covert operatives (perhaps the CIA) attack American citizens in order to blame it on Iran and rally the United States in support of war? During Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s visit with President Trump this week, will there be demands that the United States go to war with Iran? Will the American people stand up against the political manipulation that has us conditioned to accept that Iran is a great evil that needs to be destroyed (just like we were manipulated into rallying around the invasion of Iraq)? For the sake of all of humanity and our infrastructure, we can only hope that Americans can see through this and demand that the Trump administration reverse course and listen to we the American people over the interests of the Israeli government (not even the Israeli people).
