Israel’s Expanded War in the Middle East Is Moving the United States Towards a Hot War with Iran
The Middle East has not quieted down as of late, and in fact, the Israeli government has ramped up its attacks against neighboring countries. In the last several months, Israel has bombed Syria, Iran, Lebanon, Gaza, and Yemen; and yet, somehow in our minds, which are conditioned by American propaganda and the Israeli lobby, we still see the aggressor as the victim. In what has now been about a year of combat, the Israeli military has killed at least 41,586 people in just the Gaza Strip alone (this is what is known to date) and all but started a war with Iran, but we should just excuse this as collateral damage and self-defense. Israel wants to drag the United States into a war with the Persian nation, but hey, we should just go with the flow. If Israel gets Americans killed, who cares, right? That is just what allies do.
Roughly two weeks ago, the Israeli Mossad (intelligence) and Israel Defense Forces (IDF) planted explosive devices in the lithium batteries (possibly manufactured in Taiwan or Hungary) of shipments of pagers and walkie-talkies, and this maneuver was coordinated to be sent to Hezbollah in an effort to eradicate the group’s leadership (the group abandoned cell phones due to the ease in which the Israeli intelligence and military could infiltrate the devices). This caused a two-day event of explosions that could be felt across the country of Lebanon; and although Secretary of State Antony Blinken denied that the United States knew about the attacks that killed at least thirty-seven people and injured almost 3,000, the Biden administration did nothing to punish or restrain Israel. Therefore, Israel kept going with the attacks.
Just a few days ago, the IDF struck deep inside of Lebanon and bombed the capital city of Beirut and successfully eliminated the head of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, and several other key figures. In addition to Israel flattening civilian structures to the ground (including an apartment building) and killing 105 people in airstrikes across that country (over 1,000 Lebanese people have perished in the last year due to border skirmishes and airstrikes), the Biden administration, which has wanted to negotiate a twenty-one-day ceasefire deal, has urged Israel to negotiate peace instead of starting new conflicts and engaging in escalatory measures in Lebanon and elsewhere. However, do you think that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will listen to reason?
Interestingly, Iran, which is an ally of Hezbollah (do you see the World War I-era entangling alliances starting to unfold?), has blamed the United States for enabling Israel in its aggressive endeavors, and in a sense, that idea is not wrong. Although the Biden administration pretends to be at odds with the Netanyahu regime, in reality, it will continue to pour money and weapons into Israel. There is not one thing that Israel can do that will cause the United States to halt support, so yes, the United States is partially responsible for all of the civilian deaths and any of the wars and conflicts that erupt in the region. Without American aid, Israel would have to think twice about picking on the other school kids in the region, as the money and weapons could quickly dry up, and there would be no backup if Iran started to actually punch back.
The Biden administration will likely bolster Israel’s new invasion of Lebanon, as hundreds of Israeli tanks form along the border waiting for orders to cross over, and soldiers have already begun a “limited ground operation.” It is interesting how American officials condemn Russia for invading Ukraine, and yet, Israel invading Lebanon (or the United States invading Iraq) is perfectly acceptable. It is like we pick and choose which countries are not valuable enough to have their territorial sovereignty respected, and Israel is clearly not a victim, nor is it defending itself, when it launches an offensive operation (the United States and Russia were not defending themselves when invading Iraq or Ukraine either). Even though Israel sabotaged the ceasefire agreement by attacking Lebanon, President Joe Biden will not hesitate to defend Israel and prevent that country from suffering the consequences of its actions.
In addition to Israel trying its hardest to prevent diplomacy and urge the United States to start a hot war with Iran, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who has benefited from the partnership between the federal government and his defense contractor Raytheon, warned Iran that it better not target Americans overseas. He and other officials first believed that Iran was planning an attack on Israel, and then, voila, Iran launched approximately 180 missiles into Israel as a result of that country’s aggressive moves (attacking security and military targets). Iran showed restraint by not retaliating when Israel bombed Tehran, but the ground invasion against Lebanon and the assassinations against the Hezbollah leadership was just too much for Iran to hold back. Benjamin Netanyahu responded to Iran’s missile barrage by saying that Iran “made a big mistake” and “will pay,” indicating that Israel plans to seek revenge and hit targets inside of Iran. Such a move would mean further escalation, and the Biden administration will sit by and let it happen instead of cutting off aid to Israel and prohibiting that nation from further aggression.
This comes at a time when the Biden administration announced an increase of ground troops in the Middle East to bolster the two aircraft carrier strike groups (the USS Abraham Lincoln is there, and the USS Harry Truman will arrive soon), the ballistic missile submarine USS Georgia, the six warships in the eastern Mediterranean Sea (including the USS Wasp Amphibious Ready Group), the squadron of F-22 fighter jets, and the thousands of other troops already stationed there (2,500 in Iraq and 900 in Syria, among many others in allied nations across the region). Austin is also readying American troops to be on standby should they be called into action to react to the ongoing situation.
It is not just Lebanon and the Gaza Strip that the IDF is targeting, and Israeli operations have expanded into Houthi-controlled Yemen. Since the Houthis, similarly to Hezbollah and Hamas, are supported and backed by the Iranian government and have been firing missiles and drones at commercial ships (with links to Israel), Israeli targets, and even Ben Gurion Airport in Lod (Netanyahu was landing in the airport between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv); Israel decided to carry out airstrikes against power plants and seaport facilities in Hodeidah to penalize the Houthis for their attacks.
But, that is not all. In fact, the Israeli military murdered an American citizen, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, while he was protesting in the West Bank. Although Antony Blinken pretended to be upset that the Israeli government killed an American in cold blood and made a statement of condemnation against Israel, nothing was actually done. Israel got away with it, and there will never be any justice served. The corporate media barely covered the event and moved on quickly in order to not upset the Israeli lobby. If Americans will not get enraged by the slaughter of tens of thousands of people in Gaza (and the displacement of most of the population), maybe the killing of a fellow citizen will get their blood boiling. With the pro-Israeli propaganda conditioning us to believe that Israel is in the right no matter what, I will not hold my breath.
It is clear from Israel’s aggressive actions in multiple countries that it is not interested in peace, and since the United States is required to support its “ally” unconditionally, the Biden administration has no choice but to play whatever game that the Netanyahu regime puts out in front of the world. Since American politicians are bought and paid for by American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) and other pro-Israeli lobby groups, United States foreign policy will always align with the interests of Israel. If Israel can get the United States to eliminate Iran, it can then dominate the Middle East as the most powerful country (with nuclear weapons). Do not kid yourself when you hear officials say that they want peace. The United States has been inching closer to a hot war with Iran since the 1950s (1979 was not the starting point), and we are currently on the brink of it.
From a geopolitical and historical perspective, all of this is very concerning. Will Israel and Iran engage in a hot war with one another, forcing the United States to come to the aid of Israel and Russia to defend Iran? It all could be avoided with diplomacy, but the Netanyahu regime is not interested in such an arrangement. Since the Biden administration would not put Israel on a tighter leash and cut off aid for misbehaving, we were hoping to rely on Iran’s restraint in not retaliating against Israel, and yet, here we are on a very thin wire waiting to see what happens next.
Will such a war erupt before the 2024 presidential election in order to unify Americans against Iran so that Kamala Harris gets selected to inherit the throne from Joe Biden? After all, if a war starts under the Biden administration, you cannot change hands and let someone new take over. Be on the lookout for more news on how Iran sabotages Harris’ and Trump’s campaigns and attempts to assassinate Trump (without evidence, of course). The public is not ready for a new war, so we must be conditioned to rally around the flag and hate Iran. When that is complete, Americans will be ripe from the manipulation and ready to lose more money and military members to an unjust cause.
This is a developing story, and the United States could be in a war with Iran or in World War III by the next article, so stay tuned. Thank you for reading, and please check out my book, The Global Bully, and website.
