From ICE to National Guard Deployments to the Epstein Files, The Trump Administration Is Moving Us Closer to a Police State
As we anticipate the next actions of President Donald Trump’s new war in Venezuela and try to comprehend whether he intends to actively engage with that country’s military in a hot war or just simply bully Nicolas Maduro out of power without a prolonged conflict, we know based on historical trends that the military-industrial complex will benefit from the increased troop deployments, exploitation of resources (particularly oil), and the capitulation by Russia and China (as they lose a partner in South America). Wars almost always come with some form of domestic repercussions, and with the Trump administration cozying up with the new Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems and Palantir-related surveillance and data consolidation, this conflict in Venezuela is sure to contribute toward the further regression down the totalitarian road (now, the president wants to bypass Congress and issue an executive order preventing states from having authority to govern their own affairs in matters pertaining to AI, and this would consolidate regulations and make the technocratic-surveillance state and its corporate partners more powerful).
Whether President Trump is fully involved with the deep state’s move toward a full-scale police state or is simply caving to the interests of powerful elites to appease them, there can be little doubt about where we are headed. The current administration may just be laying the groundwork for a future president to expand upon the precedents set now, but contrary to what some conspiracy theorists-turned-Trump cheerleaders may say, actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the deployments of the National Guard to cities and states that have not requested a military presence bring us closer to a dystopian nightmare than ever before.
There have been social media videos (on TikTok and others) showing aggressive encounters between ICE agents (especially those with masks hiding their identities) and average people, and when federal police are invading city streets asking people to show their papers and immigration status in a supposedly free country, it should not be surprising to learn that there are protests erupting. Just recently in Chicago alone, a judge has ordered the release of 600 arrested individuals because there was no warrant or basis for the detentions, and across the United States, over 170 American citizens (not illegal immigrants) have been wrongfully detained, some of which have been held for over a day without phone calls to family or access to lawyers (unconstitutional), while others have been beaten and dragged into the streets. If Americans are required to prove their immigration status to freely walk or drive on the streets and they are being detained illegally, the United States has declined into something that sort of mirrors the fascism of the past. Yet, conservatives, who are supposed to advocate for freedom and not moving toward a police state, cheer this on as a great operation to rid the country of those pesky foreigners who should be thrown into concentration camps or expelled from the civilized bunch. Meanwhile, the Constitution is becoming further eroded by each gradual step that citizens ignore, and regardless of your perspective on rounding up and deporting illegal immigrants (both Republicans and Democrats have historically done this), you should not advocate for an increased police presence that harasses both citizens and non-citizens alike (our founding fathers were very much opposed to a standing army patrolling the streets).
Yet, immediately after an Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, critically wounded two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C. (Andrew Wolfe and Sarah Beckstrom), the Trump administration’s first order of business was to deploy an additional 500 troops to the city before the first death was even officially announced (300 National Guardsmen from Indiana have already arrived), and regardless of whether homicides were already on the decline from 2024 to 2025 (29% in D.C. specifically), the president will brag that his efforts have brought crime down (the classic case of taking credit for a trend started from before you took action). More interestingly, though, is the fact that the suspect actually worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which is known to covertly manipulate foreign governments, as well as American citizens (indirectly and unofficially, of course). Is it possible that this event was a false flag operation designed to give the Trump administration justification for sending troops to the streets?
Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution specifically gives Congress the sole power to determine when there are insurrections or periods of unrest that justify sending troops, and the Tenth Amendment describes the states’ ability to police their territory and ask for federal assistance if they feel that it is necessary (President George Washington had the backing of the Pennsylvania government and followed the judicial guidelines set forth in the Militia Act of 1792 when he marched literally into the state to disband the Whiskey Rebellion, after previously sending a negotiation team to attempt to settle the matter peacefully). Absent these criteria, the federal government has no jurisdiction to invade the sovereignty of the states or deploy troops just because the president declares an emergency, and Article 2 Section 2 of the Constitution gives the president the power to be commander-in-chief of the armed forces, not dictator determining policy on when to deploy troops (the Constitution even specifically says that the president can command the Militia, or National Guard, in this case, when Congress, not the president, “calls” it into “federal service”).
When conservatives cheer on this gross violation of the Constitution, they do a great disservice to this country, and it is really just a case of the federal government (currently under Republican control) declaring war on American citizens. Just wait until the party in power changes and Republicans complain that Democrats are using the precedent set by President Trump to dispatch National Guard units to conservative states for whatever the pet agenda is at that time (perhaps gun confiscation?). Americans need to stop being so shortsighted, but that seems to be the method that keeps us divided and never questioning the bigger picture: a police state is being erected right in front of our eyes that is ultimately supported by political elites without allegiance to either political party.
However, we should be no stranger to the idea that the federal government, under the direction of global elites and the deep state, keeps us divided. In fact, the Jeffrey Epstein Files fiasco has erupted into something where Republicans previously accused Democrats of being pedophiles, and then, when President Trump decided that it was not in his interest to release the information, Democrats jumped on the opportunity to claim that Trump was a pedophile (they did not care to release anything when President Joe Biden was in office). However, at the end of the day, both sides are missing the point. This is not a left versus right (or liberal versus conservative) issue, as both parties have politicians that would quickly sell out Americans for their own interests. In fact, there are real possibilities that Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell (his partner), and Robert Maxwell (Ghislaine’s father) were all tied to the Israeli and American intelligence communities (Israeli Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations, or Mossad, and the CIA). As I have stressed many times, American politicians care more about the interests of the Israeli government than they do about American citizens, so it is reasonable to suggest that the Epstein plot may have been a blackmailing and money-laundering operation to spy on and keep American politicians in line with deep state agendas.
Regardless of whether the people demanded that the Epstein Files be released, the government will almost certainly give us a watered-down version that reveals nothing of merit. In fact, it has already been reported that names will be redacted, including President Trump, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) spent $851,344 for 934 agents to scrub material from 100,000 documents related to the Epstein Files (this overtime pay was back in March). This, of course, does not include any items that may have already been eliminated, disappeared, or otherwise covered up prior to President Trump taking office.
It is doubtful that the American people are ever going to see anything meaningful come out of all of this, but the good news is that while other administrations covertly hid the Epstein Files, at least the current Department of Justice is overtly telling us that it is in the process of pulling a fast one on the American people and not willing to give us the truth (we may not be getting transparency, but at least we are being told that we are not). The redactions will make it near impossible for anyone to comprehend the full picture of what transpired, and the powers that be would prefer to keep it that way so that the people do not rise up and overthrow the corrupt government that keeps us under its complete control, whether we are talking about the surveillance state, police state, military state, merging of government and corporate power, or the endless lists of laws and regulations that keep Americans down.
